Aesir (which translates into "storm giant")[1] are platinum-skinned giants that once crafted the oceans and skies, and one of the titan subspecies (the other being Vanir). Their sphere of power is storm, frost and water. They are highly reclusive, shying away from all mortal creatures, not wanting to disrupt the delicate balance of their evolution. Their direct children are the mountain giants and sea giants, whom they created to help them tend to the high peaks and oceans of the world. They are stronger, smarter, and more agile than other titan subspecies.[2] They have a connection to the elements of Air and Water.[3]

It would seem that it is not a coincidence that the aesir are the creators of the mountain giants, and sea giants,[citation needed] they carry the titan name which means "storm giants" in their native Titan language. Mountains and seas are known for great storms, and being part of the process of creating storms. Their sphere of power being storm, frost, and water, and connection to the elements of Air and Water, also fit into the theme.[citation needed]
