All Alchemy recipes are used by Alchemists to learn to create potions, oils, elixirs, and flasks or to perform transmutes. Recipes may be trained at a trainer or learned from a Recipe, which can be purchased from vendors, found as loot, or earned as quest rewards. There are currently 242 Alchemy recipes in the game. If you wish to determine which recipes you are missing, you can use the in-game mod Ackis Recipe List.

Apprentice

It costs 8 to become an apprentice alchemist. The first three recipes are granted for free when this profession is begun.

All recipes within this section were introduced in one of the expansions. Master alchemy is trained by  Alchemist Gribble at Honor Hold and  Apothecary Antonivich at Thrallmar, and it allows progression up to 375 alchemy skill. The Burning Crusade also listed a few 300 skill recipes that are listed in the previous section.

Recipes are categorized by the nature of their source. Recipes from a trainer are taught by the grand master alchemists who teach Master Alchemy. Several recipes are sold by vendors, including special faction quartermasters that require a certain level of reputation. Finally, there are many drops and discoveries.

Grand Master

With the release of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, alchemy up to 450 is now possible. Beginning at 350, one may be trained as a Grand Master by  Lanolis Dewdrop and  Wilhelmina Renel in the Howling Fjord. Linzy Blackbolt in Dalaran also trains Grand Master recipes.
