An Archaeology Fragment is a type of currency players can gather by using the Archaeology profession, introduced in the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion. Common artifacts can be acquired by turning in a few dozen fragments, but better or rare artifacts will need over a hundred fragments plus one or more keystones. The Archaeology sub-skill used to help gather fragments is called [Survey].

Even though some contintents were added before the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion, dig sites were added to those continents.
