Elemental: While in the form of a Flame Ascendant, Lava Burst has no cooldown and Chain Lightning is empowered to become Lava Beam. Enhancement: While in the form of an Air Ascendant, auto-attacks and Stormstrike become Wind attacks, bypassing armor, and having a 30 yard range. Restoration: While in the form of a Water Ascendant, all healing done is duplicated and distributed evenly among nearby allies.

Ascendance is a core shaman ability learned at level 87. It permits shamans to transform into a type of elemental ascendant for a brief period of time, imbuing them with different abilities based on the shaman's specialization.

Patch changes

• Patch 6.0.2 (14-October-2014): Ascendance for the Enhancement specialization now changes the Shaman's auto attacks and Stormstrike to deal Wind-based physical damage that bypasses armor.
  
• Patch 5.2.0 (5-Mar-2013): Lava Beam's damage now increases with jumps. Each jump increases the damage by 10%.
  
• Patch 5.0.4 (28-August-2012): Added.
