Blazerunner is a level 53 (was level 56 elite) named fire elemental that resides at the top of Fire Plume Ridge in the Un'Goro Crater. He guarded a powerful artifact called the [Golden Flame] at one time, but now only prevents Williden Marshal from sleeping well.

To kill Blazerunner, it is best to acquire the [Silver Totem of Aquementas] which can be used to dispel Blazerunner's aura. The aura reduces all damage he takes by 90% and knocks you back quite often. Blazerunner himself casts an AoE Blast Wave. This totem is only gained through the quest line which brings you to kill Blazerunner in the first place. This same quest is the final step in the chain and yields [Linken's Boomerang] as well as one of two other items.
To get to Blazerunner, the easiest directions would be to take the uphill route from the northern face of the northeast corner of Fire Plume Ridge.
A pet can tank Blazerunner without getting knocked back, even with his aura on.
Note that you must hold the totem through the fight or Blazerunner can recast his aura.
Strategy[]
You will need to use the totem more than once in any fight with him, since he seems to get his aura back midfight. It would be good to put it in a spare action-bar slot where you can use it when necessary.
Blazerunner punts on occasion, but as with any punt, you will not fall off of a ledge that you cannot climb right back up, but you may be punted into the lava that flows in the immediate vicinity, which will cause about 500 damage if you stay in the lava. A good way to make this easier on yourself is to get behind him immediately, so his punts will only send you into the cave wall.
If you're lucky enough to show up while Blazerunner is despawned, it's possible to get a first strike in when he spawns before his aura goes up, eliminating the need for the Totem entirely and making the fight much easier.
