'''Binds to Blizzard account''' (as of [[Patch 7.2]]; aka '''BtA'''; changes to '''Blizzard Account Bound''' after [[bind]]ing; previously "Bind to Account" or "Binds to account", "Binds to Battle.net account" as of [[Patch 4.1]]) is a new form of [[item]] [[bind]]ing that was introduced in [[Patch 3.0.2]]. Items that are BtA include [[heirloom]]s, [[Collector's Edition]] [[companions]], the {{item|Baby Blizzard Bear}}, and the {{item|Onyxian Whelpling}}.

Many players incorrectly use the term ''BoA'' instead of BtA to match [[BoP]] and [[BoE]]. Sometimes any Bind to Account items are referred to as "[[heirloom]]s" even though they are not technically the same (they usually don't scale, unlike true {{q|heirloom|heirlooms}}).

"BoAs" as many people call them can be bought from many rep. vendors, including bought from points in Dalaran and Honor points in Wintergrasp

== Mailing items ==
As of [[Patch 5.4.2]], account-bound items can be mailed to characters on the same account, even on different realms and across factions. You simply type the character's name then a "-" followed by the realm the character is on. Some naming rules apply for realm names, since they can have spaces and apostrophes, unlike characters names.

As of [[Patch 4.1]], account-bound items can be mailed from characters attached to different World of Warcraft accounts if they are under the same [[Battle.net]] account and on the same [[realm]]. Also, faction-specific items will be translated to the faction equivalent, if changing factions.

Starting with {{Wotlk-inline}} Wrath of the Lich King, account-bound items can be [[mail]]ed to any [[character]] that shares the same [[account]] and [[realm|server]]. Since [[Patch 3.3.0]], account-bound items can be mailed to characters of opposing [[faction]].
