A bomb is a type of explosive only Engineers can use or craft that produces a Ground Targeted Area of Effect. Like Grenades and Mortars, bombs typically have a secondary effect (stun, silence) as well as damage. They cannot be used while moving. When bombs are used, a green targeting symbol appears on the ground that can be moved around. The targeting symbol becomes a red 'no' symbol when moved out of range. After acquiring a valid target, click to throw the bomb. The table below summarizes the variety of bombs available to Engineers; skill required and effects. The secondary effect is noted as unreliable above a certain level (the level limit, below).
Bomb | Skill | Primary Effect | Secondary Effect | Level Limit |
---|---|---|---|---|
[Saronite Bomb] | 350 | Inflicts 1150to 1500 Fire damage | Causes moderate siege damage (150 damage) | |
[Cobalt Frag Bomb] | 330 | Inflicts 750 to 1000 Fire damage | ||
[The Bigger One] | 325 | Inflicts 600 to 1000 Fire damage | Stuns targets in a 10 yard radius for 5 seconds | 80 |
[Fel Iron Bomb] | 300 | Inflicts 330 to 770 Fire damage | Stuns targets in a 5 yard radius for 3 seconds | 76 |
[Arcane Bomb] | 300 | Drains 675 to 1125 mana from those in the blast radius and does 50% of the mana drained in damage to the target. | Silences targets in the blast for 5 seconds | |
[Dark Iron Bomb] | 285 | Inflicts 225 to 675 Fire damage | Stuns targets in a 5 yard radius for 4 seconds | 73 |
[Hi-Explosive Bomb] | 235 | Inflicts 255 to 345 Fire damage | Stuns targets in a 3 yard radius for 3 seconds | |
[The Big One]* | 225 | Inflicts 340 to 460 Fire damage | Stuns targets in a 10 yard radius for 5 seconds | 60 |
[Mithril Frag Bomb] | 205 | Inflicts 149 to 201 Fire damage | Stuns targets in a 8 yard radius for 2 seconds | 60 |
[Big Iron Bomb] | 190 | Inflicts 149 to 201 Fire damage | Stuns targets in a 5 yard radius for 3 seconds | 53 |
[Big Bronze Bomb] | 140 | Inflicts 85 to 115 Fire damage | Stuns targets in a 5 yard radius for 2 seconds | 44 |
[Small Bronze Bomb] | 120 | Inflicts 73 to 97 Fire damage | Stuns targets in a 3 yard radius for 2 seconds | 39 |
[Large Copper Bomb] | 105 | Inflicts 43 to 57 Fire damage | Stuns targets in a 5 yard radius for 1 seconds | 36 |
[Rough Copper Bomb] | 30 | Inflicts 20 to 28 Fire damage | Stuns targets in a 3 yard radius for 1 seconds | 24 |

Other types of bombs[]
Acid bomb[]
An acid bomb is a glass sphere filled with caustic acid that splashes over a wide area upon impact. Notoriously fragile, the shock of launch sometimes causes the acid bomb to shatter and splash over the crew attempting to fire it.[1]
Beehive bomb[]
A beehive bomb is a cubic, wooden framework surrounding a thin shell of waxed clay filled with gunpowder and iron caltrops. A time fuse lit just before the bomb is launched at its target ignites the beehive bomb, causing an explosion that hurls the sharp caltrop "bees" at targets in all directions.[1]
Boomshell[]
Tinkers often fret when they discover much gunpowder is loaded into a boomshell. Boomshells are so large that they often have wheels and handles attached to their shells to allow them to be easily maneuvered into place. The detonation of the gunpowder on impact not only does massive damage to whatever it strikes, but deafens any creature within its splash.[1]
Gas bomb[]
A gas bomb is created by loading a clay container with powdered lime, rotten eggs, and a sickening brew of other ingredients that explode in a foul-smelling cloud upon impact. Like acid bombs, the shell of gas bombs are known to shatter while being launched, sending siege weapon crews fleeing from their own weapon.[2]
Sunstone[]
Sunstones were created to cheaply incapacitate as many opponents as possible. The thick clay shell of a sunstone usually survives impact, only burst seconds later when its time fuse ignites a charge of gunpowder and a large amount of phosphorus that burns so brightly that all within its splash radius are blinded.[3]
