This is a silly article

This article is silly. Coming from a source other than the computer games, trading card game, novels, RPG, or manga, its content is not part of official Warcraft lore, but nevertheless has become part of the culture belonging to the World of Warcraft community.

Bubble Hearth refers to a paladin who escapes PvP, or any other type of combat, by using Divine Shield and then their Hearthstone. Currently, the only current ways to stop this after the paladin has cast Divine Shield is the Mass Dispel spell from a priest of level 70 or higher or a warrior's Shattering Throw ability or of course, High Overlord Saurfang's cleave.

If the player equips an Argent War Horn and uses it, a paladin from the Argent Dawn will appear, fight for 30 seconds, and then despawn by the humorous method of Bubble Hearthing.

Also, a fortune by Sayge tells: "Divine Shields and Hearthstones do not make a hero heroic."

There is even a song made by players relating to this act:

I'm a little paladin, short and stout. Here's my hammer and here's my trusty mount. When I get in trouble I scream and shout, then I bubble and hearthstone out!

It is generally agreed that the transportation of Dalaran to Northrend was the most epic Bubble Hearth in WoW history.

Cataclysm[]

Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'Module:Inlinegfx/img_link_data.json' not found. Starting with Patch 4.0.1, the duration of Divine Shield was reduced to 8 seconds, whereas the casting time of Hearthstone remains at its previous duration of 10 seconds, bringing an end to bubblehearthing.

However, with the addition of archaeology, a certain reward gives a spark of hope to paladins. The Last Relic of Argus can provide a "Poor Man's Bubble Hearth", being castable within the duration of Divine Shield, the only catch is it takes you to a random location.

Mists of Pandaria[]

The minor Glyph of the Righteous Retreat reduces the cast time of Hearthstone while under Divine Shield by 50%, making bubblehearthing viable again.

Warlords of Draenor[]

A paladin with a Garrison can similarly combine the use of Divine Shield with their Garrison Hearthstone which has a cast time of 5 seconds, without needing the above Glyph. The cooldowns are not shared, so combining both allows Bubble Hearthing twice in 30 minutes.

Legion[]

Since Patch 7.0.3, the ability to Bubble Hearth has been included in the normal function of Divine Shield and can be performed by any paladin, at any level, so long as they have Divine Shield and a Hearthstone or Garrison Hearthstone.

Only mention that remotely describes the change can be found in the patch notes, in the line that states:

  • Some minor glyphs that made cosmetic alterations to a specific spell have been added to the spell itself in the spellbook.

Or not. Also [Glyph of Righteous Retreat] is now a [Charred Glyph].
