Chickens are neutral level 1 critters found in many areas of Azeroth. They are particularly numerous near human settlements in the Hillsbrad Foothills, Westfall, and Duskwood.
If a player targets a chicken and uses the emote "/chicken" numerous times, the chicken may eventually offer the easter egg quest 
[1] CLUCK!.
Other forms of chicken come in mechanical, beast, and mount form.

- Upon the completion of [10] Operation Recombobulation, the quest giver, Razzle Sprysprocket, starts an action sequence that turns a captive leper gnome into a chicken, which then runs off. If you follow it out the door, it runs a short distance and then despawns.
- Generic chicken critters are found in a few human settlements.
- Frightened Chickens are in found in phased Gilneas City after the initial Worgen attack.
- Chicken Escapees are found in Sholazar Basin.
- Dun Morogh Chickens are found in Dun Morogh.
- White Chickens are in found in Ruins of Gilneas and Orgrimmar.
