Spellcasters, such as this Blood Elf mage, are known for wearing cloth armor. As such, some players call them "clothies." or "squishies" for their low armor value.

Cloth armor is the only type of armor that can be effectively worn by mages, warlocks, and priests. Cloth armor has the lowest armor attribute, below leather armor. Other classes can wear cloth: Druids, Paladins, and Shaman, though this is not recommended due to its low armor value and usually inappropriate attributes.

While Cloth armour has the lowest armour value, it also boasts the cheapest repair cost.

Cloth armor can be produced with the Tailoring profession.
