The Council of Three Hammers is the regency that rules the Kingdom of Ironforge and dwarven society following the Cataclysm and the crystallization of King Magni Bronzebeard. The Council is so named because it is comprised of representatives from each of the three dwarven clans of the Three Hammers in Eastern Kingdoms. Despite their varying backgrounds and ideological differences, the three representatives have pledged to rule united for the good of Ironforge.
- The Bronzebeard clan: Muradin Bronzebeard, Magni’s younger brother and a veteran of the war against the Lich King (also known as Yorg Stormheart).
- The Wildhammer clan: Falstad Wildhammer, renowned gryphon rider and high thane of his clan (though he was replaced by Kurdran Wildhammer in a number of beta builds,[citation needed] Falstad will be featured in Cataclysm, thanks to the efforts of the now famous Red Shirt Guy).[citation needed]
- The Dark Iron clan: Moira, legal heir to the throne of Ironforge due to her lineage, represents the Dark Irons, the clan ruled by her late husband Dagran, as queen-regent to her son Fenran Thaurissan.
