The Council of the Black Harvest (previously called "The Council of Six Daggers" in the Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'Module:Inlinegfx/img_link_data.json' not found. Beta) is a powerful, shadowy organization of 6 warlock trainers from around Azeroth and Outland whose existence was revealed by the book, [Legacy of the Masters]. They have presumably "unlocked the secrets of the most destructive forces to ever threaten Azeroth." What this means is not immediately clear, but implies that this group has discovered some new powers in the wake of Deathwing's fall.[1]

So far it appears that the first substantive evidence of the activities of this group were revealed in Patch 5.1 and continue or conclude with Patch 5.2. Both Alliance and Horde forces have discovered the existence of this group and are seeking to convince them to join their faction and add their powers to their fight.[1] Both the Alliance and Horde believe the other is farther along in their quest to gain the knowledge of this group and seek to thwart the other.[2] However, both trails eventually lead to Wrathion.[3]

After the battle on the Broken Shore, the Council searched for a warlock who would replace Kanrethad as their sixth member. They tried to open a portal from the sewers of Dalaran, a portal that would take them to one of the Legion's worlds where they could destroy Legion's pressence. The portal took them to a world ruled by Jagganoth the pit lord. Jagganoth took all five members to captivity, and also killed Zelifrax. With the new member escaping with the help of Calydus, they traveled back to Dalaran. The rest of the Council was sent to Mephistroth, excluding Ritssyn who died from his wounds.

- Several items bearing Ritssyn's name can be found throughout the game.
- Supposedly, these warlocks are quoted in flavor text lore for some warlock talents in Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'Module:Inlinegfx/img_link_data.json' not found. Mists of Pandaria.[citation needed]
