When tackling the groups of Creeping Sludge you will want to make sure you have all your cooldowns ready to use as they can deal a lot of damage very quickly. It is best to kite them as far as possible and so single target is far superior when compared to AoE spamming in this situation. As a preemptive strike make sure to clear mobs in the lead-up path to the packs of Creeping Sludge as that way you will not accidentally pull any more mobs than you have to, very possibly preventing a full-blown wipe.
