Darnell is a level 1 Forsaken warrior that helps Forsaken players during a few quests in Deathknell. After defeating the Rotbrains, Darnell is made into a Deathguard and stationed at Deathknell. He will also appear in the Firelands patch in Mount Hyjal.
Darnell could be a reference to Daneel, a character from Isaac Asimov's novel The Naked Sun. In the novel, Daneel assisted the main character in adapting to a new world and served him most of the time, much like Darnell in the beginning quests.[citation needed]
