The Dartol's Rod of Transformation was originally created by Dartol. The method by which to obtain the rod has been removed from the game, though players that have it in their inventory may still keep and use it.

This item was also provided for the following quests:

All the above quests have been removed from the game.

Other Uses

Since this item could be used an infinite number of times and the shapeshifting effect would last for three minutes or until a character took damage, many players used to opt to complete enough of the  [30] Raene's Cleansing^ω τ ϖ quest to receive this item and then simply kept it without finishing the quest, though later it was no longer necessary. Though it had no functional use outside of the quest, transforming into a furbolg could be entertaining.

• There was no dance animation for a furbolg.
• The shapeshift was lost when mounting up.
• In Shadowform, you lost the dark coloring of your shadowform buff but you would still look faded even after the shapeshift had ended.
• Note that the item is not retained through a Faction change.

Patch 4.0.3a (2010-11-23): No longer obtainable.
Patch 3.1.0 (14-Apr-2009): Removed as an objective of  [30] Raene's Cleansing (11).
Patch 3.1.0 (14-Apr-2009): Tooltip fixed to no longer state Only usable in Ashenvale.
/ Patch 3.0.2 (14-Oct-2008): Tooltip changed to read, Only usable in Ashenvale.
            However it is still usable outside Ashenvale.
