This event is now over. Frowney

"Strange things are afoot in the world of Azeroth as denizens of Sanctuary cross over into an unfamiliar world."

Diablo's 20th Anniversary was a one-time mini holiday event which ran from January 5 - 9, 2017.[1] During the event, a number of toys and other novelties were obtainable in World of Warcraft, which were references to the Diablo franchise.[2]

During this event, treasure goblins would spawn throughout the Broken Isles, as well as within Legion dungeons of any difficulty. If a treasure goblin was killed before it completed its "Escape Portal" spell, players could step though a portal to a "Secret Cow Level". This was a modified version of the Yorgen Farmstead, filled with Diabolic Bovines and "The Cow King".[2]

The Cow King could be looted once a day per character and was guaranteed to drop a [Twelve-String Guitar] toy, and potentially a [Horadric Satchel], [Livestock Lochaber Axe], or other holiday items.[2]

Special items[]

The following items could be looted from either The Cow King, or Treasure Goblins, unless otherwise noted.[2] While the toys, bag and weapons stay with a character, the various "charms" listed below disappeared from players' bags when the event was finished.

Achievements[]

  • Diablo's 20th Anniversary - A feat of strength achievement, awarded for obtaining a [Twelve-String Guitar].[2]

Other special features[]

Trivia[]

  • [Stone of Jordan] (a possible Currency) was datamined before the release of this event. However, it never ended up making it into the final release. This item would have been a reference to a well-known ring of the same name found within the Diablo franchise.
