Bashiok (formerly Drysc; real name Micah Whipple) was a long-time Blizzard employee (October 2003 to July 2015) and was a Community Manager for the US World of Warcraft forums before moving onto the Diablo 3 Community Team. He is a large fan of both the bands Tool and The Mars Volta.^{[citation needed]}

In the public test realm for Patch 2.1.0, Drysc summoned 40-man raid bosses in Shattrath City.

A Draenei NPC in the Exodar's Crystal Hall is named after the CM's first avatar (Drysc). A rare mob in Gorgrond is named after his second avatar ( Bashiok).

At the end of July 2015, he announced he was leaving Blizzard.
