If Two-Hand weapon is equipped, Off-hand slot must be empty unless the character is a Warrior with the Titan's Grip talent.

Off-Hand (One-Hand/Two-Hand)

Weapon Types: Sword, Mace, Axe, Dagger, Fist Weapon, Shield, Held In Off-hand Upgrades: Enchantments, Counterweights, Weapon Chains, Shield Spike Can hold Off Hand or One-Hand weapon (Dual Wielding classes Only) as well as Shield (Warrior, Paladin and Shaman Only) or Held In Off-hand item. If Two-Hand weapon is equipped in Main hand slot, this slot must be empty unless the character is a Warrior with the Titan's Grip talent.

Ranged items or Relic items categories

Ranged weapons now all count as Two-handed weapons and take up the appropriate slots. Relics were removed. Weapon Types (Ranged): Wand, Bow, Crossbow, Thrown, Gun Weapon Types (Relic): Libram, Totem, Idol, Sigil (worn in Ranged slot) Hybrid classes (Druid, Paladin, Shaman, Death Knight) have Relic slots, others have Ranged. Note, the general achievements called "Superior" and "Epic" say Ranged for all classes. Upgrades: Scopes (Guns, Bows and Crossbows only), Gems (Guns, Bows and Crossbows only)

Ammo

The subject of this section has been removed from World of Warcraft. Removed with Cataclysm..

Ammo items category

Ammo Types: Arrows, Bullets Upgrades: None Unlike all other slots, this one doesn't hold the item itself but rather the link to one or more stacks of ammo type items held in the players bags.

Equip slots in Macros

When creating macros based on "click to use" items (especially trinkets), the common practice is to enter the actual item name. However Using the numeric designations for an equipment slot is a much more effective method as it eliminates the need to manually modify your macro when you upgrade a particular item.

These Slot designations are particularly handy for Engineers whose Tinker enhancements and Engineering only items add and/or posses an "on use" ability for items in the Back, Belt, Foot and Head slot that would not normally posses such capability for Non-Engineers.
