Warcraft III campaigns
Reign of Chaose

1: Exodus of the Horde
2: The Scourge of Lordaeron
3: Path of the Damned
4: The Invasion of Kalimdor
5: Eternity's End

The Frozen Throne

1: Terror of the Tides
2: Curse of the Blood Elves
3: Legacy of the Damned
4: The Founding of Durotar

Exodus of the Horde was used as the game's demo of Warcraft III and called "Prologue". In the retail version of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, the last three missions were cut out and just the tutorial levels were left as the "Prologue campaign" โ€” with the Introduction: The Prophecy and Cinematic: Thrall's Vision added โ€” however, it was extended in the official "Custom campaign" in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne adding the last three missions back. Although the remaining missions were added in the Frozen Throne, the voice acting was removed.

The orc campaign continued in The Invasion of Kalimdor.

Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos demo (Prologue)[]

Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos (Prologue campaign)[]

Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne (Custom campaign)[]

Differences from both versions[]

Prologue-Custom
  • Has nonfunctional triggers where the archmage was supposed to be captured (as they are nonfunctional the actual lore may be that the archmage was killed in the battle).
  • Has two different loading screens in the first two levels.
  • Has demolishers
Demo
  • Has two different loading screens in the first two levels.
  • Has catapults.
  • In Riders of the Storm, the archmage leading the humans is always named Kelen the Seeker. In the Custom campaign, his name is randomly generated (which means that "Kelen the Seeker" is only one of several possible names he might get) as in a custom map.

Disadvantages from each version[]

Prologue-Custom
Disadvantages
  • Thrall's items and tomes aren't saved from the Prologue to the Custom campaign.
  • There is a visibility bug with Sen'jin in The Fires Down Below.
  • Custom campaign has no voice acting.
Demo
Disadvantages
  • Can't be played in latest patch, limiting the gameplay.
  • Don't have the complete music.

Trivia[]

  • In the campaign menu, the background terrain actually represents a stormy version of The Invasion of Kalimdor background terrain. This can seen if the player pays attention.
  • At start of the Orc campaign, players can see that Thrall's level is one, even if the player levels up Thrall in the Prologue campaign.
