A game demo (sometimes called shareware or trialware) is a version of a game that is limited in some way (lower level cap, time limited, reduced features, etc.) but otherwise gives a player a first impression of the full game. A game demo is an often, but not always, freely distributed demonstration or preview of an upcoming or recently released computer or video game.

Game demos of Warcraft I, Warcraft II, and Warcraft III have been released. Warcraft II and III do not have game demos of their expansions. Warcraft I never had an expansion.

You can download a 10-day Free Trial of World of Warcraft and play for free for 10 days. You can also try World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade for 10 days if you have an existing World of Warcraft account or World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King trial, if you have an account upgraded to Burning Crusade.
