Gorelix the Fleshripper is the former owner of the Maw of the Damned. He used the axe to steal the life from his enemies to replenish his own, bringing his meals back to his Burning Legion world of Niskara. According to legend, he is the butcher of a thousand worlds, having exterminated countless races with his axe.
The Knights of the Ebon Blade send members of their Order to Niskara in an effort to slay him and wrest control of the axe from his hand, but most of the knights were killed. He kept one alive to serve as bait for any others that might follow.
