EnragedGryphon

Regular gryphons

Gryphon mounts are the "default" rare flying mounts for Alliance players, and come in a variety of colors. The gryphons are capable of running on all fours like a cat for land travel, rendering it useful as a ground mount.

Expert mounts[]

A player may purchase these mounts from:

These mounts require Expert flying (costs 250g to train) and have a 100% land speed and 150%-310% air speed increase, cost 50g each. Faction reputation discounts applying to reduce the price.

Artisan (fast) mounts[]

These mounts give a 150%-310% speed increase in the air, and 100% on land.

These mounts cost 100g each, and are available from the same vendors as the Expert mounts above. Again, faction reputation discounts apply.

Grand Gryphons[]

As of patch 5.1.0 there are two new gryphon mounts:

Loaned Gryphon[]

This mount is a special flying mount purchased from "Honest" Max outside of K3 in Storm Peaks for free, so long as you are level 77 and have not purchased Cold Weather Flying, and can only be used in Sholazar Basin, Storm Peaks, and Icecrown.

Armored Snowy Gryphon[]

This mount is only available from Mei Francis in Dalaran, and only purchasable by the Alliance. She charges 2,000g for it, but faction discount does apply from the Kirin Tor. The Horde equivalent is the [Armored Blue Wind Rider].

Spectral Gryphon[]

This mount is available as a reward when a player uses a scroll of resurrection and the resurrected friend pays for at least 30 days of game time. After the resurrected friend pays for 30 days of game time, the player who sent the scroll of resurrection can claim a [Spectral Gryphon] on an Alliance character or a [Spectral Wind Rider] on a Horde character by logging into their battle.net account and viewing the scroll of resurrection page.
