Akeley is the name of a main character in Lovecraft's novel The Whisperer in Darkness. This is Henry Wentworth Akeley, a man who lives in an isolated farm and says it has made contact an alien race called the Mi-Go. He's eventually abducted and taken to Pluto by this alien race.
