Highmountain tauren are a tauren sub-race inhabiting Highmountain on Broken Isles. They are direct descendants of Huln Highmountain and his tribe. Huln was a war hero during the War of the Ancients, Cenarius blessed Huln's tribe with Horns of Eche'ro, giving them moose-like antlers.

War of the Ancients[]
During the War of the Ancients, 10,000 years ago Huln Highmountain united Rivermane tribe, Skyhorn tribe and Bloodtotem tribe under the banner of Highmountain. In aftermath of the war, he used the Hammer of Khaz'goroth to banish Deathwing from Broken Isles.

For centuries, Highmountain tauren lived in peace, all until the Legion's third invasion. When Dargrul the Underking stole the Hammer of Khaz'goroth and killed Ulan Highmountain.
