The Howling Vale after the Cataclysm.

The Howling Vale

[52, 37]

is located in north-central Ashenvale, just southwest of the border to Felwood. Prior to the Cataclysm the vale was home to a tribe of worgen called the Terrowulf, and they completely overtook the ruined Shrine of Mel'Thandris located there. It was the worgen's chilling calls that gave the vale its new name. Alliance adventurers came here from time to time in search of the legacy of the famed sentinel Velinde Starsong.

After the Cataclysm, the worgen disappeared. The cave entrance to the north has collapsed, but a new entry has arisen. The Vale is now overrun with hostile Ancients.

The rare mob, Terrowulf Packlord, can still be found on a shelf upon Thunder Peak. It is unknown if his current location is the result of a bug.
