Hrothgar's Landing is an island located off the northern coast of Icecrown. It was formerly home to a tuskarr village until it was conquered by Drottinn Hrothgar and his kvaldir. The island is now a mist-shrouded staging point from which the kvaldir, or "sea vrykul" as they're often known, stage attacks against Silver Covenant and Sunreavers' ships in the waters between the island and Icecrown.[1]

Players who have risen in the ranks of the Argent Tournament and awarded the title of <Crusader> by the Argent Crusade are directed to the island with a new series of quests surrounding the kvaldir's taking of the island from the tuskarr.

Hrothgar's Landing is the second outdoor zone added to the game in a content patch since Isle of Quel'Danas was added in patch 2.4.0, and it's the smallest zone in-game.

Speculation[]

Questionmark-medium
This article or section includes speculation, observations or opinions possibly supported by lore or by Blizzard officials. It should not be taken as representing official lore.

Since the dead tuskarr bodies are named Slain Tualiq Villager, it is safe to assume that "Tualiq" was the name of their village on the island before the kvaldir raid. Though the whole Island could have been known as Tualiq as well.

Notes[]

The island is most likely (re)named after the kvaldir who conquered it, Drottinn Hrothgar. He can be killed during the quest N [80] Drottinn Hrothgar.

Trivia[]

The name is most likely a reference to Hrothgar, the legendary King from Beowulf.
