Speculation[]

Questionmark-medium This article or section includes speculation, observations or opinions possibly supported by lore or by Blizzard officials.*

Since Shirvallah also seems to be a tiger loa, it is possible that Kimbul was supposed to be a lion loa (since lions are often called "king of the beasts"), but lore on both is scant. Also, there was a silent film called Simba: King of the Beasts, but the association is a stretch. Another remote possibility is the association with Kimball and Morton, a company that made a sewing machine called The "Lion".
