Kor'kron Elites are elite grunts who are stationed in Grommash Hold as Warchief Thrall's bodyguards. These bodyguards will defend Thrall with their life as well as Vol'jin and other residents of the city's fortress. They are more powerful and stronger than the city's regular guards, the Orgrimmar Grunts.

The Kor'kron elites continue to guard Orgrimmar following Thrall's departure, upholding their duties with the current Warchief of the Horde, Garrosh Hellscream. Curiously, They are not found within the new-look of Grommash Hold, but are seen training other warriors of the Horde.

During the Horde's push against the Alliance in the Jade Forest, they are part of the unit that assaults Thunder Hold. When Garrosh was becoming very corrupt and formed the True Horde, the Kor'kron Elite were called upon by their Warchief to defend Durotar from the entroaching rebellion to the south. During the initial siege of the city itself, some of them remained on the Kor'kron side, while those defected to Vol'jin's rebellion. After the siege ended and Garrosh taken to Pandaria to await trial for his crimes, the Kor'kron Elite and the Orgrimmar Grunts pledged their allegiance to Vol'jin, who became the new Warchief of the Horde.
