This is allegedly the only ooze in game with a mana bar, used for the spell Crimson Fury. Until patch 1.7.0, the slime dropped [Timolain's Phylactery], it is speculated that the slime inherited some of Timolain's powers. Thus, the slime was believed to be part of the Ashbringer quest line.
