Longitudinal analysis and modeling of video game play behaviours is a study to understand how people's play of video games changes over time with a focus on World of Warcraft conducted by the University of Calgary in early 2013. It is not clear how long entries to the survey will be accepted.

World of Warcraft players needed![]

The University of Calgary is looking for World of Warcraft players with active characters to participate in a survey to learn more about game play patterns, player variables, game engagement, game addiction, and game rewards. Win Money

Upon completing the survey, you will be able to enter a draw for one of four $25 (Canadian) prizes by entering an email address at the end of the survey. There will be two more follow up studies for cash prize draws in four and eight months’ time.

Eligibility[]

If you would like to help us learn more about video game play behaviors in this study

  • You must know the name and realm server of at least one of your currently active World of Warcraft characters

The Survey[]

The survey asks questions asks multiple choice questions about play behaviour, engagement, and addiction variables and will ask for the names of your active World of Warcraft characters.

You will not be contacted by the researchers in-game. Under no circumstances, will you be asked for your login details!
