Mooncloth Tailoring is one of the Tailoring Specializations you are able to choose in Shattrath City.

Mooncloth Specialization allows a tailor to create two MoonshroudLua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'Module:Inlinegfx/img_link_data.json' not found. or Primal MoonclothLua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'Module:Inlinegfx/img_link_data.json' not found., rather than just one. The specialization also grants access to specific tailoring recipes. Of the three cloth wearing classes (priest, mage, and warlock) specialization is geared more towards priests as it makes items with spirit and set bonuses to help healing.

Becoming a Mooncloth Tailor[]

To specialize in Mooncloth Tailoring, a tailor must complete N [70] Becoming a Mooncloth Tailor, given by Nasmara Moonsong <Mooncloth Specialist> in Shattrath City. To obtain this quest you need to have 350 proficency in Tailoring. While you can learn 350 Tailoring as early as level 50, the quest requires at least level 60.

To complete the quest, travel to the Moonwell located at Cenarion Refuge in Zangarmarsh and use the provided quest item, then travel back to Shattrath City to complete the quest.

Earlier entries stating that this quest can be completed at any Moonwell are incorrect. The Sample piece of cloth clearly states in the item tool tip to go to Zangarmarsh. Any attempt to craft the sample at another Moonwell will result in an error message.

You don't need any mats to complete the quest, and it won't start the cooldown on Primal Mooncloth crafting. Immediately after completing the quest you may travel back to the moonwell to craft your first two pieces of Primal Mooncloth.

Changing Specialization[]

Since patch 2.1.0, you may now re-specialize. It will cost 150gto unlearn the current specialization.

Crafting Primal Mooncloth[]

Crafting Primal Mooncloth is not exclusive to Mooncloth tailors, but the specialization will always produce 2 pieces of Primal Mooncloth with the mats for a single one.

The materials are:

Inv fabric netherweave bolt imbued
1x [Bolt of Imbued Netherweave]
Inv elemental primal life
1x [Primal Life]
Inv elemental primal water
1x [Primal Water]

A tailor must be in any Moonwell area to craft Primal Mooncloth.

The cooldown on the crafting used to be 96 hours (4 days), and wasn't shared with the cooldowns on the other types of specialized cloth, namely Spellcloth and Shadowcloth. This cooldown has been removed.

Exclusive Patterns[]

Mooncloth Tailoring gives exclusive access to the following patterns:

These patterns require the specialization to be obtained, and the items are Bind on Pickup, meaning only Mooncloth Tailors could ever have the crafted items.

The Primal Mooncloth Set is arguably the best Holy Priest equipment attainable before the 25-man raid instances. It nicely complements the Whitemend Set ([Whitemend Hood] & [Whitemend Pants]), because it uses different equipment slots.

Material cost to construct set[]

To make the complete set you'll need:

Inv elemental primal life
42x [Primal Life]
Inv elemental primal water
26x [Primal Water]
Inv elemental primal mana
12x [Primal Mana]
Inv fabric netherweave
234x [Netherweave Cloth]
Inv enchant dustarcane
26x [Arcane Dust]
Spell nature web
8x [Netherweb Spider Silk]
