Mutanus the Devourer is a level 21 elite murloc boss found in the Wailing Caverns. He drops the [Glowing Shard].

Mutanus appears to disrupt any attempt by Muyoh to wake the sleeping Naralex. Manifested from Naralex's Nightmare, Mutanus the Devourer has been ordered by whatever force has infected Naralex’s dreams to prevent anyone from awakening him. Mutanus appears as a colossal albino Murloc.
Abilities[]
[Naralex's Nightmare]ω ϖ—Puts the enemy target to sleep for up to 15 sec. Any hostile action will awaken the target. Only one target can be slept at a time. This spell will not target top-aggro player.- [Terrify]ω ϖ—Terrifies an enemy, causing it to flee in fear for 4 sec. Only 1 target can be terrified at a time.This spell will not target top-aggro player.
- [Thundercrack]ω ϖ—Inflicts 94 to 106 Nature damage to nearby enemies, stunning them for 2.50 sec. He will cast this spell on initial aggro of the group and then again at 15% HP.
He is also immune to Shadow spells.
Summary[]
Mutanus is the final boss in Wailing Caverns. You must return to the entrance to summon him. He'll appear during the Naralex event after 2 waves of smaller mobs. He hits quite hard, and if he catches you off-guard, he could potentially wipe out your group. Make sure you eat and drink before he spawns. Mutanus has a powerful sleep spell called Naralex's Nightmare which he will sometimes cast during the fight. Only enter at full health.
