- The name Nils Beerot is a parody of the famous Swedish psychiatrist Nils Bejerot who coined the term Stockholm syndrome. Nils Beerot eludes to this syndrome in the quest Eastpoint Tower by saying the two orcs captured were suffering from Durnholde Syndrome, a clear reference to Stockholm syndrome.
- Nils Beerot's title of "psylosopher" and his definition of it as being smarter than the player is likely an allusion to the real term psilosopher, a term for someone who falsely claims to know more than they do.
