Elwynn Falls as seen near Northshire Abbey
Northshire River flows from the mountains east of Stormwind City, through Northshire, and eventually empties its waters into Crystal Lake. Although it is not named in game, both Northshire River and Elwynn Falls have become popularized by the World of Warcraft community.

Prior to the Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'Module:Inlinegfx/img_link_data.json' not found.Cataclysm, the source of the river in the mountains was only visible while on a flight path between Stormwind and Ironforge, and thus was not able to be viewed by players of the Horde faction by regular means.
With the addition of flying in Azeroth, both Alliance and Horde members can now fly into the mountains to explore the river.
