Out of character (OOC) indicates something said or done by the person playing a character, not the character itself. OOC speech is often interjected when explanations are required that cannot be provided in character. It is often denoted by the use of the emote system.

Lored OOC: Sec, I gotta take a shower.
Lored - Sec, I gotta take a shower.
Lored ((Sec, I gotta take a shower)).

The second version is the most preffered as it is easily recognizable from normal emote. In the game, OOC talk should be limited to /party or /tell. This version violates the official World of Warcraft roleplaying policy and can and will lead to a ban if the actions are not discontinued.
