Description[]
*please note* This is aimed at those who are coming in late to start the "battered hilt" quest line: To pick up this quest , you first need to complete the start quest. Meet Jaina Proudmoore inside the Forge of Souls and accept the quest she has for you. This will set up a series of quests that will eventually lead you to this quest and the "Halls of Reflection"
We need to make our way up the main path and through the cave to Tyrannus' rise. There, he will be forced to confront us lest we make our way into the citadel proper.
Go now, <class>. My men and I will be there to stand by you when the confrontation with Tyrannus comes.

Such a senseless waste! Arthas goes too far! I can only hope what we find in the Halls of Reflection makes this somehow worth it.
If what that vile gnome said is to be trusted, Frostmourne should be there, and with it, answers to confronting Arthas.

After defeating Ick, Krick spawns:
- Krick yells: Wait! Stop! Don't kill me, please! I'll tell you everything!
- Lady Jaina Proudmoore yells: I'm not so naive as to believe your appeal for clemency, but I will listen.
- Krick yells: What you seek is in the master's lair, but you must destroy Tyrannus to gain entry. Within the Halls of Reflection you will find Frostmourne. It... it holds the truth.
- Lady Jaina Proudmoore yells: Frostmourne lies unguarded? Impossible!
- Krick yells: I swear it is true! Please, don't kill me!!
- Scourgelord Tyrannus yells: Worthless gnat! Death is all that awaits you!
- Krick yells: Urg... no!!
- Tyrannus strangulates Ick.
- Scourgelord Tyrannus yells: Do not think that I shall permit you entry into my master's sanctum so easily. Pursue me if you dare.
- Lady Jaina Proudmoore yells: What a cruel end. Come, heroes. We must see if the gnome's story is true. If we can separate Arthas from Frostmourne, we might have a chance at stopping him.
- Jaina then meets up with the large group of freed slaves and Martin Victus at the base of the path.
- Scourgelord Tyrannus yells: Your pursuit shall be in vain, adventurers, for the Lich King has placed an army of undead at my command! Behold!
- The path to the tunnel leading to Tyrannus's area fills with ymirjar and skeletons.
- Scourgelord Tyrannus yells: Persistent whelps! You will not reach the entrance of my lord's lair! Soldiers, destroy them!
Upon reaching the mouth of the tunnel:
- Scourgelord Tyrannus yells: Rimefang, trap them within the tunnel! BURY THEM ALIVE!
- Rocks and blocks of ice start falling from the ceiling. The cave acts as a gauntlet. Rockfalls are denoted by Blizzard-like marks on the ground a few seconds before it falls.
Upon reaching the other end of the tunnel:
- Scourgelord Tyrannus yells: Alas, brave, brave adventurers, your meddling has reached its end. Do you hear the clatter of bone and steel coming up the tunnel behind you? That is the sound of your impending demise.
- Martin Victus yells: Heroes! We will hold off the undead as long as we can, even to our dying breath. Deal with the Scourgelord!
- Scourgelord Tyrannus yells: Such an amusing gesture from the rabble. When I have finished with you, my master's blade will feast upon your souls. Die.
After defeating Tyrannus:
- Martin Victus yells: Brave champions, we owe you our lives, our freedom.... Though it be a tiny gesture in the face of this enormous debt, I pledge that from this day forth, all will know of your deeds, and the blazing path of light you cut through the shadow of this dark citadel.
- Martin Victus yells: This day will stand as a testament not only to your valor, but to the fact that no foe, not even the Lich King himself, can stand when Alliance and Horde set aside their differences and---
- Jaina Proudmoore yells: Heroes, to me!
- Jaina teleports the party to her location, just inside the mouth of the tunnel, as Sindragosa casts a Frost Bomb on the open area, killing all freed slaves except the few mages who had time to Ice Block themselves, including Martin Victus.
- Jaina Proudmoore says: The Frost Queen is gone. We must keep moving - our objective is near.
- Jaina Proudmoore says: I... I could not save them... Damn you, Arthas! DAMN YOU!
- Jaina then walks over to the entrance to the Halls of Reflection, concluding this quest and offering Frostmourne.
