Objectives

Use the Trained Fire Hawk to kill 100 of the Flamewaker Salamanders, 40 of the Cinderweb Spiders, and 3 of the Molten Lords that are amassing in the Firelands.

Description

Look at that! It's incredible! Born less than two days ago and already full grown. Sadly, I suspect their life cycle is similarly short, so we'll have to take advantage of any time we have.

His training went remarkably well. I want you to be the one to take him out and unleash him on the bulk of the enemy forces gathered near Ragnaros' keep.

Show no mercy, <race>.

Completion

I take it your assault was a success! Brilliant. This could be a key moment in opening up Ragnaros' defenses.

Notes

  • This quest sends you into a phased version of the outdoor Firelands raid.
  • The Molten Lords seem to be the most difficult (read: bugged), as sometimes a direct hit will kill one, and sometimes it takes multiple hits. This does not appear to be related to how much health the mob has.
  • The abilities you are given while on the mount are as follows, excluding the obligatory ability that sends you back to the quest giver:
    • Spell fire meteorstorm.png  [Flame Seed]ω ϖ 100 yd range—Plants a series of flame seeds on enemy targets, detonating for 259000 to 301000 Fire damage after 4 seconds or on significant impact.
    • Spell mage flameorb.png  [Flame Burst]ω ϖ (5 second cooldown) 100 yd range—Launches a massive concentration of flame at a group of enemies, dealing 23125 to 26875 Fire damage and knocking them back.
  • While on this quest, players will see other mobs, including flamewakers attacking a Lava Monstrosity and also holding an Enraged Magma Hound captive. In one of the corners of the phased raid area, players can also see the members of either Wrynn's Raiders or Thrall's Thrashers (depending on the day), milling about as if waiting for their raid to start.
