Raven Hill (Cataclysm)

Worgen at Raven Hill after the Cataclysm

Raven Hill is an abandoned town located in western Duskwood, north of Addle's Stead and south of the Raven Hill Cemetery.

This ghost town once took pride in its honor for the dead. It held a mortuary school that graduated the finest embalmers in Azeroth. The undead killed the town. The inhabitants attempted to fight their loved ones that rose from the graves, but eventually gave up and fled east to Darkshire. The Defias Brotherhood tried to set up camp in the town after the citizens fled, but even they couldn’t take the constant attacks by the undead. Some citizens remain, including a master embalmer called Abercrombie, who lives near Raven Hill cemetery. A serious man, he works both to stay alive and to stop the undead (or so he claims). Raven Hill is possibly the origin of the massive Black Riders, huge beings that suddenly appear with hellhounds at their feet to run down frantic travelers. Some nights they skirt the perimeter of Darkshire, howling loudly.[1] (LoC 47)

The village now holds only a few living persons - Jitters, an Alliance-friendly NPC whom players interact with for several quest series (in particular, the quest series leading up to Morbent Fel), and Bliztik the goblin vendor, who hides on the top floor of one of the buildings. Beyond Raven Hill lies the large town cemetery. This is where a lot of the higher-level Duskwood quests take you.

Tip: If you're going to do quests in Raven Hill, rather than running from Darkshire, fly to Sentinel Hill in Westfall and run to the cemetery from there, as it's closer.

Possible prior history[]

Similarly to Darkshire Raven Hill was likely not the original name of this ruined town. In Warcraft 1 there is a town named Sunnyglade which seems to be at the location where Raven Hill is located. The town might have been renamed sometime after the First War like Darkshire.
