Rocs are a type of birds that can be found in various places of Azeroth, including Sholazar Basin in Northrend.
The Bonefields in Sholazar Basin has a number of rocs occupying the area, with the Goretalon Matriarch as their leader.

- Roc (level 41 - 43)
- Fire Roc (level 42 - 45)
- Searing Roc (level 47 - 49)
- Goretalon Roc (level 75 - 76)
- Windrocs appear in Nagrand, but it's unknown if they are a subspecies of roc or their own species, since rocs they a different model.
- Feralfen Druids can assume a roc form.
As A Hunter Pet[]

Most in-game rocs are considered carrion birds, however, with the owls classification changing to birds of prey, some rocs are now considered birds of prey.

A roc or rukh (from the Arabic and Persian رخ rokh, asserted by Louis Charles Casartelli to be an abbreviated form of Persian simurgh) is an enormous legendary bird of prey, often white, reputed to have been able to carry off and eat elephants. [1]
