Rotting Slimes can be found in the southeastern part of Ashenvale forest, most notably in the area surrounding the Dor'Danil Barrow Den
[75, 75].
Prior to the Cataclysm, one of the drops of these slimes was the Rusty Chest which would contain the quest item, the Iron Pommel. This has since been removed and now the pommel can be found in the chest of Oso Bramblescar.
