The Ruins of the Scarlet Enclave

[84, 74]

is the combined region around the towns of New Avalon and Havenshire, which were destroyed by the Scourge (with the aid of death knight player characters). The Enclave is accessible by going through Tyr's Hand or the cave

[81, 43]

between the Noxious Glade and Death's Breach.

Throughout the ruins, the banner of the Knights of the Ebon Blade (rather than that of the Scourge) can be seen in certain areas, such as the courtyard of New Avalon and outside the ruined Scarlet Hold. The ruins of these last human settlements in the Eastern Plaguelands serve only as a sad reminder of what the Scourge can do to its enemies. The Havenshire Farms contains a plague cauldron put in place by one of them, and it has turned what used to be pumpkins into hideous mounds of unnatural flora that look like they are breathing. The trees, already dying before the coming of Acherus, are rotting away, some of them already mutating. King's Harbor is deserted, the last ship having left shortly before the massacre of almost the entire Scarlet Crusade. Some ruined buildings still contain a cozy fire, only reinforcing how recently the Scarlet refuge was ended. Corpses still litter the ground in the ruins of New Avalon and Havenshire, and Death's Breach rises above the ruins at the north side, with Acherus still floating overhead, and the banner of the Ebon Blade placed all over the campsites. The whole area is covered in a veil of reddish-orange smog, like the majority of Eastern Plaguelands.

There is nothing to do except view the ruins of New Avalon, Havenshire and the surrounding areas before the city of Tyr's Hand.

Notes[]

This area contains no NPCs, mobs, herbs, nor ore veins.

It appears that the dock is not entirely unmanned after the Cataclysm, as an NPC waits to send adventurers by sea to Fuselight-by-the-Sea, a new Goblin town in the Badlands.
