Shadowleaves are a group of night elf sentinels led by Shandris Feathermoon.[1] Part of them fought alongside Cenarius against Grom Hellscream and the Warsong clan. When the Nightblades destroyed one of the Warsong bases the Shadowleaves established in the destroyed base, from which they sent periodic attacks against the Warsong clan. However Grom found the Chaos Well, he and his orcs drank from it and became chaos orcs; with their burst of power they killed the part of the Shadowleaves that was helping Cenarius and then the orcs killed Cenarius himself.[2]
After Cenarius's death the night elves saw the outlanders as their enemies, Tyrande and Shandris were watching a base of the combined forces of the Human Expedition and the Orcish Horde and Tyrande decide to attack them while Shandris retreated to the Shadowleaves' base. When Tyrande was fighting the outlanders Tichondrius, the Scourge and the Burning Legion appeared, destroyed the base and pursued Tyrande. Then the undead attacked the Shadowleaves but Shandris fended them off. Tyrande made her way through the Burning Legion forces and the outlanders, while rescuing Shadowleaves and recruiting them to aid her in reaching the Shadowleaves base. Finally, they arrived at the base where she told Shandris that the undead that attacked her were sent by the Burning Legion, their ancient enemies, and against that threat they had only one option: both of them left the base and went to awaken the druids.[1]
