Soul Shards in Mists of Pandaria was a resource system for only Affliction warlocks, but was extended to all warlocks in Legion. Up to 5 Soul Shards accumulate through the use of certain spells, and similarly decreases with the use of other abilities.

This section concerns content exclusive to Legion.

• Start with 5 "empty" Soul Shards.
• After 30 sec out of combat, Soul Shards will degenerate at a rate of 1 every 5 sec.
