The page on spell Coefficients states that consecration gets 95.4% (http://www.wowwiki.com/Spell_Damage_Coefficients#Paladin_Coefficients) of your plus dmg, but this pages states its 76%. Anyone know which is correct?

My testing today showed 100% of spell damage, distributed over 8 seconds in equal chunks. (Luckily, I had either +40 or +160 spell damage, both divisible by 8). Errors here may come out of unlucky number of +spell damage/insufficient testing. This is per 2.3.0.

I tested this when 2.3 first came live. I was using an Ace2 addon called DrDamage which had an incorrect co-efficient. After a days testing with as much varying amounts of spell damage, I have concluded the co-efficient is 95.238%, or assuming a casting time of 3.5 secs equating to 100% co-efficient, consecration has a cast time co-efficient of 3.3333 (three and one third) seconds. So, (3+(1/3)) / 3.5 would give 0.95238, which is the exact co-efficient that I have found to be consistent from 0 spell damage to all the way to 600 spell damage.

Spell Hit[]

You are not casing Consecration on the enemy, you are casting it on the ground. In effect, Consecration becomes a property of the area; it makes sense that each tick must be resisted separately. Imagine it as a hot stove, resisting being burned once will not help you if you remain on the stove. Madkaugh (talk) 21:27, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
