Restoring[]

The Drakefire Amulet was returned to me. After I took a Faction Change to Horde-side on my home server, I dropped my account for a few years and was recently (patch 5.0+ era) restored via a Scroll of Resurrection to a new server, returned to Alliance-side, and level-bumped to 80. My Amulet was in the "Welcome back! Here's all of your stuff!" mass of emailed items they sent me. Sorry for the poor-quality addendum; I wasn't sure how I should add this sort of thing!

To re-summarize, I faction-changed on my home-server and lost the Amulet. I was sent a Scroll of Rez to move to a new server and return to Alliance-side, and when I did, the Amulet was in my returned gear. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by LizShirako (talkcontr).

I don't know how much it matters, but did you happen to faction change prior to logging in? Raylan13 (talk) 23:43, November 22, 2012 (UTC)

I'm always happy to be clear on these sorts of sneaky/odd/rare kinds of questions! So, I'd begun on Alliance-side as a NElf and earned my Amulet long ago. My Alliance-side RP coalition shattered years later. After much debating I brought her to Horde-side, and played there for several months before I quit WoW for a number of years.

Fast-forward to now! A friend of mine wanted to see my alt, who they'd heard stories about from me over the years, and when the Scroll of Rez had an option to allow a faction-change AND server move to be with the Rezzer as an option, they did that for my Drakefire-bearing character, bringing them from a Horde-Side Tauren Druid to an Alliance-side Night Elf Druid once again.

I *very specifically* did not log in on my alt before the Scroll had completed the faction and server-move changes because sometimes games behave differently in an absolute sense (by looking only at my accomplishments, say) than in a relative sense (as in, if I'd logged in I'd have had a character 'status' that I didn't want it to refer to, since it had been three years or so since I'd been on last). I got the scroll and waited for my alt to be copied-and-factioned, set her appearance and name, then logged in and boom; Amulet!

I hope this helps!

Thank you - yes, that helps quite a bit. I'm trying to tweak the section on the page to match what happened in your specific circumstance. Raylan13 (talk) 01:24, November 27, 2012 (UTC)
