The best drop rate I've found is from the Zaxxis Raiders in the Heap, southwest of Area 52. Much higher than anywhere else, despite what Thottbot said about it... --Azaram 13:17, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
- I found this myself as well and just to clarify why recorded drop-rates are not accurate for this item please see some information below.
- A player has to have the quest A Mission of Mercy completed and be honored with the Consortium before the [Ethereum Prison Key] will drop to begin with.
- In addition many players when they first arrive in Area 52, will kill Zaxxis Raiders for their Insignias which are required for the quest A Heap Of Ethereals and the repeatable follow-up quest Another Heap Of Ethereals. Players are usually not honored with the Consortium at that stage and/or most likely have not completed the prerequisite quest yet.
- However, once players get to the Voidwind Plateau area, they are already Honored with Consortium and are on or already have completed the prerequisite quest mentioned above.
- Bottom line is that for the [Ethereum Prison Key] and other items of that nature recorded drop-rates on any of the websites like Thottbot, WoWhead or Allakhazam can never be accurate for the above reasons and most likely many other factors.
