Mount[]

Where does it say they are mounts? I dont recall them being a mount. Cormundo 01:39, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Night elf flight points provide non-controllable hippogryph mounts. --Pcj (TC) 01:40, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
They are, you just cannot buy them to use in Outland, you can only use them as taxi mounts.   Zurr  TC 01:41, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
According to a blue post on the forums, you actually will be able to buy them after patch 2.3, if you are exalted with the Cenarion Expedition. Ygoloxelfer 19:15, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
There have been rumors that the new Hippogryph epic flying mount won't require 300 riding skill, but I doubt it. --Fandyllic (talk · contr) 2:26 PM PDT 9 Oct 2007

Last I heard, 2000g + 300 riding skill. Kirkburn  talk  contr 23:37, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

10 times the price of any other mount, and exalted with Cenarion Expedition... Furrfu. --Azaram 05:35, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Race[]

I think they are a race since they understand languages and have a racial leader. Or am I way off? Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 07:15, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

Seems more like 'really smart animals' to me. If you find an official source that says they are a race in that content, feel free to add it.--User:Sandwichman2448/Sig 20:16, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

"...some legends say that hippogryphs may have originally been created by the night elves..."[]

Where does it say they were thought to be created by the Night Elves? In the War of the Ancients, they were gifts from Cenarius to Malfurion and his companions, and were thought to be creatures only of myth. So I think it's obvious they weren't made by the elves. Especially considering they wouldn't exactly have the means by which to create a new species of animal. IconSmall FelbloodElf MaleWarlock}Mykael Mourningsun
