"(as most seed races were)" No, there is no evidence that they ever were, and there is strong evidence that at least the Earthen were made stony from the start. The mechagnomes are the only seed race that I think has probably always been metalic. Vrykul and the Giants are a bit more of a question mark, but I have reasons to think that they too were always fleshy/stony.
