The speculation claims she refers to Cataclysm. What if it has to do with something in Cataclysm? Uldum is said to go into the southern, unused part of Ahn'Qiraj. So is it possible there'll be another rise of C'Thun and the Qiraji? Just a thought. Mykael Mourningsun (talk) 08:14, November 2, 2009 (UTC)
- Well back then, it most likely referred to the "re-opening of the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj", and it might be picked up for Cataclysm again, but I wouldn't count on it. ~ Nathanyel (talk) 17:29, November 2, 2009 (UTC)
- I'm totally for removing the statement as it's just not logical. She said the same thing in the vanilla WoW days, before the Gates were opened, so that's obviously what she's referring to. Even if it was viewed as a post-gate opening quote, it's placement in the game that early would've more than likely been a reference to the Emerald Dream. Vaxas (talk) 10:58, November 21, 2009 (UTC)
Context[]
As covered in the discussion above, Ralo'shan's comments at the end of her dialogue are 'not' about Cataclysm, the Shattering, or Deathwing. In current (patch 4.0-4.3) Azeroth this might all seem like history to newer players, but at the time she was added, the AQ raids weren't open. Her dialogue was warning players about C'Thun's presence and the coming confrontation.
She was added in Patch 1.8, when Silithus was made an end-game questing area. She acts as a prophet, foreshadowing the content for the next patch - Patch 1.9 - in which Blizzard introduced the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj event, and the two Ahn'Qiraj raid instances where players would find C'Thun and his work behind the Scarab Wall.
The war she speaks of having already experienced was the beginning of the War of the Shifting Sands, which started 1,000 years prior to the events of 1.8/1.9. Players were able to observe those events as flashbacks with the help of Anachronos in the quest A Pawn on the Eternal Board, now removed as it was part of the long quest chain to reassemble The Scepter of the Shifting Sands.
Furthermore, her comments concerning Dreams and nightmares were not made about some future potential Emerald Dream/Nightmare expansion, but about the Dragons of Nightmare, which was the name of Patch 1.8 that she was a part of. That patch introduced four world boss dragons made for 40-man raids that randomly spawned at the Emerald portals around the world.
Any edits made to the article that claim or speculate that she was talking about the Cataclysm are misled, false, and should be removed promptly! - Vaxas (talk) 18:49, May 17, 2012 (UTC)
