Most likely evolutionary path is:

                      Earthen
                      / \
                 Dwarves Troggs
                             |
                           Gnomes

I don't see any physical similarities between Troggs and Gnomes. And sign your posts. Saimdusan 01:16, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Gnomes descended from troggs? You must be joking. It is far more likely that they are either descended from dwarves or else a shorter type of earthen. ---- Battlegroup RoundIconVorbis AvailableQuestIconTalk ActiveQuestIconContribs

no i think gnomes are from dwarves. so like this
                             Titan
                            / \
                         Earthen Giants
                         / \
                     Dwarves Troggs
                       / \
                   Gnomes Human
                   / \
         Leper Gnome Sand Gnome
--Airiph 21:39, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Actually humans are probably offshoots from Dwarven as well, as implied in WotA trilogy and Alliance Player's Guide.

                             Titan
                            / \
                         Earthen Giants
                         / \
                     Dwarves Troggs
                       / \
                   Gnomes Human
                   / \
         Leper Gnome Sand Gnome

yea but troggs seem like ancient humans so could have bean trogg then azerotha then human ==Airiph 17:53, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
No - troggs seem like an evolutionary dead end to me. That such an adaptable and intelligent race as humans evolved from asexual cannibals doesn't make sense to me. ---- Battlegroup RoundIconVorbis AvailableQuestIconTalk ActiveQuestIconContribs

Differing Origins[]

The trogg origin on this page seems to be completely at odds with the origin given by the Lorekeeper of Norgannon in Uldaman. This page indicates that they were created by the Titans directly, while the Lorekeeper says that they were created by the "matrix destabilization" of the earthen during the Sundering, like dwarves. - Dark T Zeratul 18:58, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

WoW is the best sourse, not some OTHER LESSER WEBSITE!--User:Sandwichman2448/Sig 19:00, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
The RPG probably gives the most detailed info, I should add the info sometime. It either described loosely, "Troggs were the titan' first attempt to create life from living stone, but the experiment was a failure. Dwarven scholars postulate that the experiment went wrong due to interference of the Old Gods.", Troggs were the Titan's first attempt at creating a race (the second attempt, entirely successful, produced the dwarves.)
...and other times times its more specific, essentially that Troggs were a byproduct of series 1 earthen, dwarves a byproduct of series 2 "failures". In anycase it seems troggs "existence" was arose by different means in different locations & at different times in history, the ones in Bael Modan region were slightly different than ones in eastern kingdoms.Baggins 19:03, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
How do troggs seem like ancient humans? They are the same size as dwarves, have the same general build as dwarves, headstructure is closer to dwarves, and are even bearded like dwarves...Baggins 18:51, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
Real-life primitive humans mave have sort of looked like troggs.--User:Sandwichman2448/Sig 19:37, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Stonesplinter[]

I understand it as Grawmug is the chieftain, and the other two his bodyguards. Am I wrong, or is the page wrong? --Xavius 11:35, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

That's exactly what the quest says, so the page is wrong. Well, WAS wrong... -- Dark T Zeratul 12:13, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

Well, now it says Brawler is the leader... I'll change that, OK? --Xavius 15:31, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

Simple Rune says some troggs worship light, or am i just reading things? Noobi666 (talk) 09:33, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

I think you misread it; he's rattling off a list of things that a new dwarf will see. "Dwarves using the Light like humans" is one item, and "and troggs" is a separate one. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 10:04, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Clan of troggs in Dwarf Starting zone[]

im starting a rp in the wow forums and do the troggs in dwarf starting zone have a tribe?

References[]

Should this page not find more sources from WoW? I mean, the article as it stands is full of references to the RPG, which is non-canon. I'd go so far as to say half the article is non-canon. MadHatter121 (talk) 23:40, December 2, 2013 (UTC)

Take a look at our Lore policy, especially the first and last sections. Raylan13 (talk) 18:14, December 5, 2013 (UTC)
